So yeah...a Valentine's Day pic for you all. *ducks from knives* I was a bit tired of all the lovey dovey pics on that day, so I decided to do an angst one. You can gut me all you want...

I had shown the sketch to Adi and asked her if she wanted the challenge of writing a 100 word drabble, and she did! My heart broke. Read at your own risk:


Italics - Flashbacks




Naruto gasped. Pupils contracted as the slice of metal cut through him.

“Hah! You’re gonna have to try harder than that! I’m just as good as you!”

It went clean in. The cool sharpness slid in beneath his ribs. One swift fluid movement at the flick of a pale wrist.

“I promised didn’t I? I’m going to bring you back!”

Crimson flecked eyes flicked back to a solid deep grey. They watched in rapt fascination as blood slowly soaked through.

“Sakura-chan missed you! I… missed you…”

Blue eyes widened impossibly, an incredulous look of sheer shock twisted the boy’s features.

“You’ll see! We’ll defeat him together, I can help…”

Slim fingers released the weapon. The body swayed for a moment after the tip was pulled out. With infinite slowness, it hit the ground. The moment it touched, the sapphire gaze slid shut.

“It can go back to like before…”
